Message from the CEO & Chair
Stronger Than Ever
Over the last seventy years, the Chamber has counted on the strong leadership of its Board of Directors. However, never as much as in the past year. Drawing on their strength, the resilience of the business community and the dedication of the talented Chamber professional team, we were able to be the guiding light to help our region navigate through the pandemic. Through this experience, the Chamber has emerged Stronger Than Ever.
Advocating for a pro-business climate in Boca Raton and South Palm Beach County is something the region expects from their Chamber. We used our traditional means of advocacy when applicable, but under unique circumstances, we also used the latest in technology to connect with our elected leaders to communicate the key issues facing the business community. These efforts assisted in Florida experiencing one of the strongest pro-business legislative sessions in the state’s history. Notable wins included the reduction of the Business Rent Tax and the implementation of the existing Internet Sales Tax and the mechanisms to collect it. Both issues have been a top priority in the Chamber’s Business Legislative Agenda.
Ensuring that candidates seeking public office share our pro-business outlook is critical to effective policy making. The Chamber’s Political Action Committee, Business Leaders United, successfully endorsed in State, County and Municipal elections contributing to our favorable business climate. The combination of successful pro-business legislation and elected officials proves the Chamber’s advocacy efforts were Stronger Than Ever.
To maintain effective member service level, the Chamber swiftly converted all its educational workshops, vertical programs, and seminars to a virtual format. This allowed us to continue to provide our members and the community the ability to participate in the mission critical programming options we offered. As we emerged from the pandemic, doing so with the highest level of caution, we were greeted with high energy and sold-out attendance at our in-person events. Taking the skills learned during the pandemic, we have now created hybrid options and folded them into our program and events menu. These new offerings, in addition to our core programing, highlights the Chamber’s value and benefits that we provide to our community is Stronger Than Ever.
The economic outlook for Boca Raton and South Palm Beach County looks Stronger than Ever. Having seen a surge of corporate relocations over the past year and half – these relocations are directly tied to the favorable open for business environment, no personal income tax, world class healthcare, thriving universities and the regions A–rated public schools. As if that were not enough, the quality of life is unmatched. South Palm Beach County is the perfect place for you and your business!
As our region continues to flourish, we look forward to the many new exciting opportunities just over the horizon.
