Bridging the Distance 5K Run/Walk

Bridging the Distance 5K Run/Walk to Benefit Boca Helping Hands

BOCA RATON, Fla, February 10,2020 – Boca Helping Hands (BHH) is pleased to be the beneficiary of the inaugural “Bridging the Distance" 5K Run/Walk (#BTD5K) sponsored by Boca Raton Innovation Campus (BRiC) and MobileHelp. The event, a certified 5K for runners ranging from amateurs to professionals, will be held Saturday, March 14 at 7 a.m. at BRiC, 5000 T-Rex Ave. Boca Raton, FL 33431. Adults run for $30 at 7 a.m. and kids run for free at 8 a.m.

All registered runners will receive an AccuChip to record their net times (actual). First, second and third place awards will be presented in five age groups, including under ten and over eighty. T-shirts and participation medals will be given to the first 300 runners. Participants will enjoy complimentary refreshments from Einstein Bagels, Adam & Joe Know Lunch and more.

Runners who sign up before March 1st will be included in a raffle for two nights lodging at a Bluegreen Resort Villa in Orlando.

"We are delighted that BRIC and MobileHelp have taken the initiative, through this inaugural 5K, to support the work of Boca Helping Hands in our community," said Greg Hazle, BHH executive director.  “We invite the entire community to join BRIC, MobileHelp and their partners and sponsors for this family-friendly event.”

About Boca Helping Hands

Boca Helping Hands (BHH) is a community-based nonprofit that provides food, medical and financial assistance to meet basic human needs as well as education, job training and guidance to create self-sufficiency. 

BHH distributes more than 70,000 pantry bags each year at three Palm Beach County locations and serves over 55,000 hot meals annually, six days per week. The organization expands access to affordable medical, dental and behavioral care through its partnership with Genesis Community Health, serving uninsured clients at clinics in Boca Raton and Boynton Beach. BHH
