Boca Raton Fine Art Show Announce Professional Artist Award Winners & Budding Artist Competition Winners

HotWorks.org 13th Boca Raton Fine Art Show took place this past weekend in downtown Boca Raton’s Sanborn Square Park, N.E. 1st Avenue and E. Boca Raton Road. The show included 155 quality juried artists, whose work was original and personally handmade by the artist at the show. We were blessed with beautiful weather this year.

Professional artist awards were judged by Sally Bright, a retired basketry sculptor artist who participated and won many awards in top-notch juried art shows for 35 years. Criteria was based on originality, technique/execution and booth appearance. Awards were presented Saturday afternoon. Joining us were Boca Raton Council Member Andrea O’Rourke and Palm Beach County Commissioner Robert Weinroth. All award winners are juried into the January show for 2021 as long as his/her work has not dramatically changed and the jury fee is waived.

As part of our commitment to bring art education into the community, a Budding Artist Competition is integrated within the art show. Sponsored by Institute for the Arts & Education, Inc., the associated 501c3 non-profit that focuses on visual arts, community enrichment, cultural diversity, and fostering art education among youth, this unique and one-of-a-kind program encourages students in grades 6-12 or ages 9-19 to create his/her original art and exposes students to the rules and entrepreneurship opportunity of doing art shows for a living. It brings families to the art show who might not otherwise attend and exposes them to great art.

Mixed Media Artist Zaki was the Budding Artist Judge, with $250 in youth art awards. Judging is based on originality and technique/execution.  Winners were:

One $100 Best Budding Artist:
Daniel Pan, Drawing, Age 17, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School
