Message from the President & Chair

Protecting You Beyond Your Business

Since 1952, the Boca Chamber has worked diligently and strategically to ensure a pro-business environment and ultimately protect your business in Boca Raton. From endorsing and supporting pro-business candidates for elected office through our Business Leaders United Political Action Committee (BLU-PAC) to traveling to our state's capital to discuss our top business priorities, we are tirelessly working for you. This year, the impact of the Parkland Tragedy has swept through our community, our schools, our businesses and our Nation. We have expanded our pillar of Protecting Business and are committed to defending you beyond the professional realm. By leading the business community to seek meaningful, common-sense and immediate change, we are working toward a safer community for all.

On February 28, we issued an official statement on the Parkland Tragedy. The statement outlined six recommendations for our law enforcement, educational agencies and business and community leaders with the hope of working together, holding each other accountable and ultimately, protecting our children. To read more about our statement, please see page 19.

On March 13, Boca Raton voted to re-elect Deputy Mayor Jeremy Rodgers in the city's municipal election. BLU-PAC endorsed Jeremy after a thorough vetting and interview process and believes he is the right candidate to continue to move Boca forward based on his experienced public service and commitment to the business community. First-time candidate Monica Mayotte joined the ranks this year as Boca's newest Council Member. We congratulate both winners and are eager to work alongside them as they serve our great city.

Coming up, you won't want to miss two of our signature events. On Thursday, May 24, join us at the Boca Raton Resort & Club as we honor top leaders at the 2018 Business Awards Luncheon. This year, we are thrilled to recognize Ami and Arnie Zak, owners of Unique Gifts and Premiums as our Small Business Leaders of the Year; John Tolbert, President and General Manager of the Boca Raton Resort & Club, as our Business Leader of the Year; and Bluegreen Vacations as the Business of the Year. Our community is so fortunate to have these impactful, global leaders based right here in Boca Raton.

Looking for an excuse to get out of the office? Hit the links with us on Monday, June 4th at the Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club. Find your best foursome and spend the day golfing, networking and relaxing on the greens. We hope to see you there!

From Connecting Members, to Advancing Commerce, to Protecting Business and Enhancing the Community, the Boca Chamber is your strongest business advocate. By working alongside city, county and state officials, we are able to create an atmosphere where your business can prosper. Beyond that, we are committed to protecting the students, who are the future leaders, doctors, CEO's and public servants of this city. We are committed to change. Thank you for trusting in us. Our Chamber is only as great as the members who belong to it.

Let’s keep moving forward!
