What is a Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce Ambassador?
A Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce (GBRCC) Ambassador is a unique individual with the motivation, drive, and desire to help propel local business.
He or she has a deep understanding of the importance of relationship-building, is motivated to succeed in business, and wants to help others to do the same. As an articulate, energetic, personable business person, an Ambassador is the front line for the Chamber's business-enhancing and networking efforts - those members who comprehend the true and complete picture of how these efforts translate into good business for Boca Raton and all of the surrounding communities.
GBRCC Ambassadors are committed to expanding their knowledge of Chamber affairs and are reputed as very reliable sources of information. This select group takes great pride in representing the Chamber and assisting members in their quests for success. At regularly scheduled Chamber functions and ribbon cuttings, Ambassadors are visible, helpful and friendly - meeting and welcoming new Chamber members at the New Member Orientation, obtaining possible new member leads for the Chamber's Sales Department, and making monthly phone calls to new and existing members. They must be able to answer questions about the Chamber and be willing to continually advance their skills as the public relations arm of this organization. They take their expertise from their business to the Chamber functions, and into the community. Ambassadors represent the Chamber, not only at every Chamber function, but also take part in many city and civic functions as well.
Simply put, a GBRCC Ambassador "gets it"!
Requirements to become a Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce (GBRCC) Ambassador:
• Must be a member in good standing of the GBRCC (dues must be current and paid in full)
• Must have been a member of the GBRCC for a minimum of 3 months
• Must have attended the New Member Orientation
• Must have attended From How? To Wow! Discover the Secrets to Leveraging your Chamber Membership
• Must fill out and sign the Ambassador application and pledge form
• You must attend three Ambassador meetings to become an official GBRCC Ambassador, and then you may begin volunteering for events! After your second meeting, you become eligible to purchase a badge at $10.00.
• After becoming an official Ambassador, you must volunteer for a minimum of one event a quarter, and one ribbon cutting a year. You are allowed 1 absence each quarter, and after three consecutive absences you will be contacted by telephone to ascertain if you are truly committed. If you are absent for six consecutive meetings, you must reapply to become an Ambassador.
